About Gim Fish Market
Located at 567 N Broad St #4, Elizabeth, NJ 07208, Gim Fish Market operates as a seafood market serving Elizabeth in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 amβ7 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Elizabeth is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Elizabeth is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I ordered family lunch. 16 pieces of fish, 8 whiting/8 flounder; reasonable at $56 no sides. The fish was very fresh. It was fried well, crispy with a slightly thick panko breading. I prefer a thinner corn meal breading. I did not detect any seasoning, i.e. Old Bay, salt or pepper so sprinkled it on when I got home. You can also order fish, scallops, shrimp, combos with fries and sides. Overall, it was a good substitute for having to fry it myself and I will likely go again. There is a good variety of fresh fish and seafood for purchase too.

The fried fish and shrimp platter was really enjoyable. However, the location is not the best. We did not feel safe but the food did not disappoint.
